What is Covid-19 Catch-up Premium?
In June 2020 the government announced £1 billion of funding to support children and young people to catch up for lost learning time following the closure of schools to all but key worker and vulnerable children during the Covid-19 pandemic. This funding includes a one off £650 million universal catch up premium for the 2020-2021 academic year to provide schools with the additional support needed to help pupils make up for lost learning time.
School allocations are calculated on a per pupil basis.
Mainstream schools will receive £80 per pupil from Reception to Year 11 inclusive.
